Gender inequality has inhibited the inclusivity and effectiveness of the animal advocacy movement. Although the majority of animal advocates are not cis men, cis men take up most of the leadership positions in the movement. Meanwhile, the #metoo movement has exposed the sexual misconduct of animal advocacy leaders.

In response to this problem, animal advocates are coming together for Equality Squared: Gender Equity in the Animal Advocacy Community, a free daylong workshop. The goal of this workshop is to build skills to resist interpersonal and institutional sexism. Free lunch will be provided. All genders are part of the solution, so we encourage all to attend.

We'll be posting more material in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! For now, you can use the top menu to learn more about the workshop, register to attend, or donate to help make the event possible.
